GETTING THERE
Upon arrival at Bogotá's airport, our recommendation is to take an Uber Black to get to your hotel. Uber is a safe way to get around the city, as you know exactly how much the ride will cost, and you can see the driver's credentials before you get in the car. We have used Uber many times in Bogotá without any problems.
We are also preparing some tips for your visit to Bogotá. Stay tuned!

WHERE TO STAY
Depending on demand, we can arrange transportation to and from the recommended areas below. Please feel free to book the location that suits your preferences and budget. Walking within and across these 3 areas is very safe, just make sure you don't cross the surrounding major highways.

Zona T / Zona Rosa: If you are looking for shopping and nightlife, Zona Rosa is the perfect place to stay. The area is filled with designer stores, local and international retailers, and a vibrant nightlife scene, including the famous party restaurant Andrés D.C. OTHER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I bring a date?
-
We have a strict guest list in order to stay within our budget. Our wedding is RSVP only. We can only accommodate those listed on your invitation.
Is there a dress code for the wedding day?
-
Yes, cocktail attire. A dark suit is preferred for men with tie. Formal long dress or suit for women. Sandals or block heels are more appropriate for the wedding venue. I (Laura) would prefer neutral colors (as opposed to bright ones), but in the end, what I really want is for you to look your best. Our photographer will take at least one picture of you that day, trust me!

At what time should I arrive?
-
We recommend that you arrive at 2:30 pm, 30 minutes before the start time to make sure you see Laura's entrance ;)

Will the event be held outside?
-
The ceremony will be outside. The party will be indoors. Bogotá is located at 2,625 m/ 8,612 feet above sea level. The weather is generally cold and rainy throughout the year. But during the day, when the sun is out, it can be quite hot, so bring sunscreen and a raincoat! In July, temperatures can range from 10 °C (50 °F) to 22 °C (71.6 °F).
When is the RSVP deadline?
-
Please let us know if you'll be able to join us no later than April 30th, 2024.

Is Bogotá safe?
-
As with any destination, it's important to take safety precautions. While Bogotá (and Colombia) has made great strides in recent years and is much safer than its past reputation, it's still important to remain cautious and aware of your surroundings. Here are some safety tips to keep in mind as you embark on your wedding weekend:
-
Stay in safe areas: Use the hotel block or recommended lodging areas; if you decide to find your own accommodations, be sure to choose reputable and well-reviewed places in safe neighborhoods.
-
Use licensed transportation: Opt for ride-sharing services such as Uber (black preferred) and avoid hailing or using unmarked or unofficial taxis, especially at night.
-
Avoid ostentatious displays of wealth: Keep valuables such as expensive jewelry, cameras, and electronics discreet to minimize the risk of theft or pickpocketing.
-
Be aware of your personal belongings: Always keep an eye on your belongings, especially in crowded places, tourist attractions, and on public transportation.
-
Learn some basic Spanish: While you can get by with English in some tourist areas, learning some basic Spanish phrases can be helpful.
